Fishing
At Marine Instruments, we have been developing solutions for efficient and sustainable fishing for more than 15 years. All of our products save fuel and reduce the carbon footprint in the ocean. We use technology and innovation to highly optimize fishing operations and create smart oceans. Our products include satellite buoys for tuna fishing, radio buoys for longline fishing, oceanography solutions to improve fishing efficiency and electronic monitoring solutions.
Satellite buoys

Satellite buoys to locate and track fish aggregating devices (FADs) used in tuna fishing. Currently, there are two models:
M3i, M3i+ and the new M3iGO with Artificial Intelligence.
The MSR-2 and the MSB+ software developed by Marine Instruments are an effective solution for receiving and analyzing the data from these buoys. For greater precision in the analysis of fishing data, we have a new integrated solution called MarineView, which includes oceanographic data and AZTI fishing recommendations, as well as FADs drift predictions to prevent them from ending up stranded on shore.
GPS Radio buoys

Radio buoys for the monitoring and rapid location of longline fishing gear for boats that use this gear in all its forms. Currently there are two models: M3P and M3P-T.
The MIR 5000 receiver and the longline software developed by Marine Instruments provide an effective solution for receiving and analyzing data from buoys, without the need to use the ship’s radio.
Oceanographic service

Marineview is an integrated solution that combines oceanographic information and the data of Marine Instruments buoys, such as M3i, M3i+, to analyze oceanographic conditions and identify the best areas for fishing, including recommendations by AZTI.
Thanks to its totally innovative, intuitive and dynamic design, you can save time and resources. In addition, you can also save fuel by visualizing the future drift of the FADs and estimating the best area to deploy them in advance.
Electronic monitoring

MarineObserve is an electronic monitoring system that allows you to record all fishing operations safely and efficiently. The system is based on the recommendations of the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA). It has been developed jointly with Archipelago, a leading company in global monitoring programs.
The system stores high definition images and video with all the information collected during the fishing trip such as location, speed or sensor status.
Drones

Tunadrone is an unmanned aerial vehicle for the detection of free-school tuna. Allows easy identification of birds and tuna schools to help fishing operations in a sustainable and effective manner.
Its launch and landing from the moving vessel is completely autonomous.
In addition, its solar panels give it long battery life in tropical sun conditions.
