Marine Instruments Joins the Sponsorship Programme for the Centenary of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano Training Ship
Marine Instruments has officially joined the sponsorship programme for the Centenary of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano Training Ship, a celebration declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest that will commemorate, between 2027 and 2028, the 100th anniversary of the launch of the Spanish Navy’s iconic training vessel.
The sponsorship agreement was signed at the Spanish Navy Headquarters by the Second Chief of the Spanish Navy General Staff (2nd AJEMA), Admiral Gonzalo Sanz Alisedo, and Marine Instruments CEO Gabriel Gómez Celaya.
Marine Instruments’ incorporation into the official Centenary programme marks a new milestone in the close relationship the company has built with the Spanish Navy through several years of technological collaboration in the development and validation of advanced capabilities for maritime surveillance, intelligence, autonomous systems and dual-use technologies.
Throughout this period, Marine Instruments has worked alongside the Spanish Navy on a number of experimentation and operational validation programmes, enabling technology developed entirely in Spain to be deployed in real maritime operational environments. This collaboration has strengthened a model of cooperation between industry and the Armed Forces based on innovation and mutual trust.
