Navantia and Marine Instruments will collaborate on Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) solutions for the maritime and defence sectors.

Navantia, an international leader in the design, construction and sustainment of high-technology vessels, and Marine Instruments, a Spanish company specialising in advanced technology solutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their collaboration on ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) systems for the maritime and defence sectors.
The agreement will enable both companies to identify and develop joint initiatives to define, integrate, validate and deploy technologies designed to capture, process, manage and leverage information in maritime and defence environments.
This collaboration combines Navantia’s expertise in naval platforms and in the design, development and integration of defence systems with Marine Instruments’ capabilities in unmanned systems, remote sensing, communications and applied intelligence.
The areas of collaboration may span the entire information lifecycle, from data capture through sensors to processing and operational use. The aim is to advance solutions that enhance situational awareness and support a more agile and effective response across different maritime scenarios.
“This agreement reinforces our commitment to innovation and collaboration with highly specialised Spanish technology companies. Combining expertise in systems design and integration, sensing, and information processing will help us deliver more comprehensive solutions tailored to our customers’ needs,” said Gonzalo Mateo-Guerrero, Navantia’s Chief Operating and Business Officer.
For Marine Instruments, Gabriel Gómez Celaya, CEO of Marine Instruments, said: “This agreement gives us the opportunity to combine our technological capabilities with Navantia’s expertise in naval technologies. Together, we will be able to advance innovative and reliable ISR solutions, ready to address the current challenges of the maritime and defence sectors.”
The Memorandum of Understanding will enable the parties to explore future opportunities for collaboration and joint projects. Through this alliance, Navantia and Marine Instruments reinforce their commitment to innovation, strengthening national technological capabilities and expanding their presence in international markets.
